It’s pretty simple, you just list your rules for life. We all have them, don’t we? Anyhoo, here are mine.

1: You know that thing your mum told you about wearing clean knickers? She was right! You really might get hit by a bus, or (more likely) the elastic could break, or you could have an incident like this.

2: Annoying people rarely improve. Ignore them.

3: The above rule also applies to the spectacularly stupid.

4: Try anything once – you never know, you might like it! And if you don’t, don’t do it again. Simple.

5: Make sure the people you love know how you feel. It might be obvious to you, but they aren’t mind-readers and need to be told and shown.

6: Never dump your friends for a man (or woman). Men (and women) can be fickle, good friends stick around for the long haul.

7: Some things are impossible; others require determination and courage to become a reality. It’s important to know the difference.

8: Buy the best perfume, shoes and undies you can afford, the cheap versions are a false economy.

9: Question everything people in authority say. Just because they are in positions of power does not mean they are correct, well intentioned or well informed.

10: Don’t worry about what other people think or say. As long as you aren’t doing anything cruel or illegal they have no reason to judge you, and probably do so because of deficiencies in their own lives.
