Eek, long time, no post
Here’s what I’ve been up to …
Cut my finger last Thursday on a piece of glass – not badly, the cut is tiny, but it did bleed a lot! So much so, that when I woke up the following morning my whole hand was caked in blood which was alarming, and I had to resort to a huge plaster until it stopped. And when I say huge, I mean covered-my-entire-finger-and-had-to-be-wrapped-over-at-the-end huge, which looked really quite ridiculous.
On Friday, my computer broke, or more specifically the hard drive did. I’m still waiting for Mr Blogs to fix that. I did consider doing it myself, but it sounded very complex, and when I took the side panel off to look inside, well, it was all a bit scary. I’m not actually computer-less, I’m borrowing my brother-in-laws, but it’s rather basic, and doesn’t even have any sound (I know, very retro) as a result of which …
I’ve been listening to a lot of radio – it’s not great when you’re used to LastFM/music on your computer. Anyhoo, I spent most of yesterday evening with the song from the Ovaltine adverts stuck in my head – no idea why, and it was only the first two lines, very annoying! Deciding to banish it with some proper music, I went through the channels on the radio and discovered a) music stations in the UK are pretty naff, b) there is an obsession with cricket. I clicked through about half a dozen which featured people talking about cricket. Why? And c) digital radios are not as easy to tune as analogue ones, all that clicking is long-winded, I preferred just turning a knob. It was easier.
So that’s bad/ugly stuff, but good things happened too!
Someone is actually paying me to write about subjects I’m interested in – I know, it surprised me too! You can see my first two posts here and here. For the less technically inclined (I think that’s most of you) yes, it is techy stuff, sorry.
And also on Friday, my son (he of the alarming career choice fame) came home for two weeks
Oh, and I think I might have talked my mum into giving me her laptop – I always knew I was her favourite

Cool.

/ June 10, 2009Yes, actual filthy lucre. I've never been paid in chicken wings, but I think I have written about them.
