One Of Those Dubya Moments
George Bush, a man not known for his public speaking at the best of times, has really gone and done it now. Whilst having a chat with his poodle, oops sorry, Tony Blair, and apparently unaware that his microphone was switched on, he uttered this statement which revealed his true feelings about the current Middle East crisis.
Two things, firstly, what hope for diplomacy when the most powerful man on earth, who is also a supporter of one of the protagonists in the current conflict makes remarks such as this. And secondly, because he makes dumb statements with such regularity, I think ‘doing a dubya’ should become the standard description for those awkward foot in the mouth moments.

The whole thing is terrible. Who says that people who want to be rulers are generally the least fit to be so?

Pippa – I thought it was a joke too, it seemed too stupid to be true. LOL
It was funny to see Jane Hill quoting him wasn’t it, she did it with such a straight face too.
Thanks for the link

*(asterisk) I totally agree! That man is “stupidy, stupidy, stupidy”.
(Quoting George from Blackadder there)

Are you aware that George the Clown, when Mr. Blair approached him while stuffing his fat face with food, addressed the PM as, “Yo, Blair!”.
I wonder how George would address the Queen: “Fetch me another beer while you’re up”?
Madmen and clowns, all.

Charlie -
“while stuffing his fat face with food,”
This made me laugh
I could imagine him saying that to the Queen, and then patting her bum as she went past. The Bushes did stay at Buck House when they came on a state visit a few years ago. Only one night though, which is very telling!
ps: It’s nice to see/read you
